Myd
Myd’s reputation as a must-see DJ and a leading light in the new wave of French Touch has soared these
past two years.
His recent sets such as his headline slot at the legendary Pikes Ibiza, opening for his idol Fatboy Slim at his
All Back To Minehead night as well as Madrid’s 7,000-capacity event Brunch in The Park and packing out
venues such as London’s Village Underground, Nightales Hackney and regularly playing for ToyTonics, the
international culture crew based in Berlin - have all helped cement his international reputation as a DJ whose
sets are a must to be experienced.
And now he is now set to open at Hï Ibiza - one of the most famous clubs on the White Isle and recently hailed no.1 club in the world by DJ Mag - before playing Glitterbox Ibiza, too. A busy Ibiza season already for the in-demand French DJ.
Myd’s inclusive, joyous, sometimes raucous DJ sets are only one string to his idiosyncratic bow, however. Also a songwriter, producer, singer and instrumentalist - he released his debut album ‘Born A Loser' in 2021 to widespread acclaim. The album fused indie and dance seamlessly, featuring collaborations with Mac DeMarco and Juan Wauters and Bakar and including singles such as ‘The Sun’, which hit certified Platinum status and ‘Together We Stand’- the song chosen for the official New Year’s Eve celebrations in Paris this year. Not bad for a “loser”.
But it's the middle ground between DJ and recording artist where Myd remains a singularity. Unexpected, unusual but beloved projects such as his 2023 festive Christmas Dinner mix, which featured bespoke mixes from a host of revered DJs and producers in his wide circle of friends and co-signs, including Laurent Garnier, Sarah Story and more - help show he is forging his own path. And as a remixer, Myd’s credits include none other than the likes of Groove Armada, Dua Lipa, and Hot Chip - whilst his own music has seen remixes courtesy of greats such as Metronomy, Justice’s Gaspard Augé, Dan Shake and more. And Myd’s latest remix is a rare cut of Shakedown's ‘Funky And You Know It’ with the legendary - the iconic - Bootsy Collins, no less.
Indeed, it’s never obvious what Myd’s next move will be - but for the time being we know he will be found across Ibiza and Europe continuing to deliver unforgettable DJ sets while he gets to work on his next remix or release.
